I did DS1, then bloodborne (struggled a lot), then elden ring, then DS2 and then DS3. the titles work best as intricately crafted experiences and that is hard to accomplish with open world settings although they did a good job of it. but the question really is, for the type of game Soulsborne titles are, is a linear design or open world design better? I'm leaning towards linear with options, similar to dark souls 1. ok sure ER has a lot of repaste bosses, but it's also a massive open world and needs to be populated, so expecting 100% unique bosses is just unreasonable and shows you don't know anything about how games are made. Reading some of these comments and man honestly you'd have to be kinda low iq to compare ds3 and ER when they're so different in design.
